Is it ok to use bottled fruit juice when undertaking a juice fast?

Im doing a fast and I find it not only time consuming, but very expensive to use fresh fruit juice. Is it really that bad to use bottled juice? Can i use both?

Also, is it ok to use a bit of fat (canola/Sunflower/Flax oil) with your fast?

What about ( a bit) WPI protein powder? I know that can affect your kidneys but can i add a bit of that to it?

Thanks

A juice fast is a stupid thing to do. No protein, and a lot of sugar. Not good. Just eat a healthy diet and forget about the juice fast.

Honestly, there are no guidelines or regulations to a fast unless you’re doing it with a group (including religious organizations). Some groups say only water is allowed, some groups allow juice/pop/flavored drinks, some allow vitamin supplements… it all depends on the group and/or your personal beliefs.
If you are able to drink juice during the fast, then bottled juice would be just fine. It’s not as nutritious, but the point of a fast is typically to have no nutrition to purge your digestive tract and cleanse your system, so it wouldn’t make a difference in that aspect.

If you are doing it for religious purposes, then ask your priest/rabbi/religious leader. If you are doing it for health purposes (like as part of a cleanse), then just stick with the recommendations therein (if it says just juice, then drink just juice).
Most fasts don’t allow you to drink fat and drinking protein powder would be counter-productive to the fast, so that would likely be out. It all depends on the guidelines and your personal beliefs. Good luck!
