Is there a sauce I can put on fruit salad?
Vegetable salad has lots of sauces. Is there anything for fruit?

I generally see whipped cream on fruit salad; haven’t tried it with vanilla yogurt yet, but I bet its good and probably healthier than the whipped cream idea.
Maybe some type of fruit glaze; I know there are strawberry and peach and apple glazes and fillings for pies. Maybe something like that could work for you.

Here’s one of my favorites:
Coconut Fruit Salad
2 apples
2 oranges
1 cup grapes
2 kiwi fruit
2 bananas
1/2 cup pecans
3/4 cup light sour cream
1 cup Cool Whip Lite
3/4 cup coconut
1 cup miniature marshmallows
Cut up fruit and toss together with pecans.
In another bowl, mix sour cream, Cool Whip, coconut, and marshmallows. Toss mixture with fruit to coat.
Garnish with pecans.

Long ago, I used to mix together whipped cream and lemon pie filling together to coat my fruit salad and I was so fond of that. But, I have another favorite that I actually stummbled upon myself. I bought 2 8 oz. packages of cream cheese and let them come to room temperature. I bought one bag of frozen Wild Berries (1lb.) and simmered them with about 2 cups of sugar until they came to a soft boil and put in about 1 tsp. of vanilla. I then let the berries cool down, then blended them in my food processor with the cream cheese and it was a huge hit at our New years Eve Dinner. Since then, I’ve had several requests to make it! I served it on the side for my fresh fruit salad, it’s colorful and really tasty on Vanilla Ice Cream too, I’ve really only begun to see it’s real potential! I hope this helps you to dress your fruit with some LOVE!

Vanilla? really you can use almost any flavor of yogurt. I usually get whatever is on sale, lemon and peach are both good. Sour cream with a couple of tablespoons of orange juice concentrate right out of the can mixed in is really good. Just plain pineapple juice is great for a lighter treat and it’ll keep the bananas and apples from turning brown. Plain cool whip or any whipped topping. I really don’t consider whipped cream, grapes and a diced snickers bar a “salad” but what do I know

I don’t like creamy sauces on my fruit salads, so what I’ve been doing is boiling a little orange juice (or any other fruit juice, or a little honey water, or water with chardonnay) and cornstarch…just enough to thicken to a saucy consistency and pouring over chopped fruit. Yummy, clear and pretty!

Honey, lemon juice, whipped cream, sour cream, cream cheese thinned out with milk or juice, mayonnaise, and poppy seed dressing are all good choices to put on a fruit salad.

Yogurt.
Also, you can do pineapple/peaches juice (the juice drained from canned pineapple or peaches)

Fold in brown sugar to taste into 8 ounces of sour cream. Do not mix very much or it will become thin. Great with sour fruits or berries.
