Question by Alvaro R: Is today’s fruits and vegetables genetically altered to better taste the benefits of human health?
Can a fruit or several fruits or even vegetables be genetically altered by scientist to better benefit the human health?

Such as this strange fruit i am not really sure what its called it is like an orange and a lemon put together.

Or a big Orange that you eat from the inside and the inside it has pulp the size of a orange seed but you only eat the seeds and it comes from china or japan.

Not really sure if they are genetically altered but if they were are they being used to better benefit the health of humans?

Is there other Genetically altered fruits or vegetables that we humans eat?

Give me your thoughts and opinions

Thanks in advance,

Alvaro

Answer by random
In Biology last year we learned about GMO’s (genetically modified organisms). People modify fruits and vegetables by injecting certain things from other organisms, yes… To benefit our health? I’m not so sure. We learned that it’s used more for keeping the vegetables and fruits from getting diseases or spots… Just look up GMO’s and you’ll probably learn more than I care to know. ^^

Question by HPfan1234: How to make a strawberry cake mix taste more like strawberries?
I have made a strawberry cake mix using a white cake mix and adding strawberry gelatin an extra egg, and some strawberries pureed. I have a strawberry cake mix, and wanted to know if the end result would be better if I add the other ingredients to the strawberry cake mix. I would prefer to add real strawberries to the cake mix. Thanks for the input.
Thank you.

Best answer:

Answer by Mustang Driver
I’m not sure if I would mess around further with a recipe like this. Baking is chemistry, and you luckily found a way to tweak it without ruining it. If you keep adding moisture, your cake may not turn out. What I would do instead is make a strawberry sauce out of real berries. Put about a half a quart berries in a pot with half a cup of sugar and just turn the pot on. The sugar will puree the berries. You can at this point add some alcohol, vodka or rum will work, or not. Maybe a small hit of vanilla, like a teaspoon. Use that to spoon over your cake.

The first glimpse at raspberry licorice will tell you that this isn’t your grandma’s licorice that she savored as a child. Nope. The shocking blue hue and the incredible burst of berry flavor will leave you speechless, as well as hungry for more. Who would have ever thought blue food could taste so darn good?

After the awe has worn off from the brilliant color shock to the eyes, you will immediately want to open that bag in your hands to see if the flavor is as amazing as the color. Before you even get a bite of the chewy goodness into your mouth, you smell the mind blowing aroma of days gone by, of hot summery August days when you would go out back and pick the raspberries that grew wild in your backyard. Your fingers would be stained a deep, rich reddish-blue and you would end up eating more than was put in your bucket. It’s astonishing how that smell brings you right back to those days.

Getting over the flashback, you finally get to taste that raspberry flavor on your tongue. Yep, it is just as good as you remember it to be. Tangy, sweet, and addicting– just like when you were a kid. The next sensation that hits you is how chewy this confection is and how it has a great mouth-feel. It isn’t too tough that your jaw is exhausted by the time you’re ready to swallow, and it isn’t too waxy like some of the major licorice brands are. You have decided that there really is a difference between gourmet licorice and the massed produced knock-offs that are out there. You can’t help but thinking that if everyone could have a bite of the real thing, then nobody would go back and buy what they are selling at the local movie theaters or grocery stores.

for more information log in to:www.licoricecandytwist.com

Like many of the thousands of people who flocked to Sunday’s Taste of Collier gourmet festival at Bayfront Naples, Steve and Kathy Thomson had their route mapped out. “We’re going to eat until we get to the other side,” Steve Thomson said with a chuckle, adding that the couple’s budget limit for the afternoon would be “until we’re full.”
