Every fruit and vegetable that you can possibly get your 2 year old to eat is good for him/her.

Dark Green and orange veggies are the best. My sons favourite was brocolli, I used to stand the stalks up in cheese sauce, he said it looked like a forest.

Pretty much anything he/she will eat is good. If it’s small and round (i.e., carrots), slice them lengthwise so it won’t be a choking hazard. If you look at your toddler’s pinky finger, that will give you an idea of how small his/her esophagus is – so choking is a very real hazard. (Hot dog weiners are another thing I always slice lengthwise to avoid the choking hazard.)

Of course, you still want to avoid giving your 2 year old peanuts, peanut butter, or anything that has peanuts or peanut oil in it. Most pediatricians recommend waiting until at least age 3 before introducing peanuts into the diet. This isn’t true of tree nuts – your child can have those now, unless you know of an allergy your child has to tree nuts.

Also – please don’t give your 2 year old popcorn. Lots of toddlers choke to death every year on popcorn.
